It’s a holiday celebration! Join us Saturday, December 5 at Asti Park (2nd Avenue/Coal Creek Drive in Original Town) for a night of fun for the whole family. The event will take place from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with s’mores, hot cocoa, cookie decorating (while supplies last), kids crafts, games, historical museum tours and more. The official lighting of the historic fire truck will happen at 5:30 pm sharp – don’t miss out!
Count the Lights on the Fire Truck! After the truck has been lit, children 18 and under will be invited to guess the number of lights on the truck – members of the Historical Commission and Superior Youth Leadership Council will be accepting guesses during the event. Guesses will also be accepted online from December 5 – December 20 at www.superiorrec.com. The winning submission(s) will be announced December 22. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive prize packs of gift cards from local Superior businesses. 1st place will receive $100, 2nd place, $75 and 3rd place, $50. Please visit www.superiorcolorado.gov for more info. The Historical Commission will also be accepting donations that will go towards continued restoration of the fire truck and the Superior Youth Leadership Council will be holding a canned food drive to support the Community Food Share program.
Town staff have worked with a variety of local Superior businesses to help put on this event. A special thank you to Swingle Lawn, Tree and Landscape Care for providing all of the holiday lights to decorate the truck, Whole Foods for donating the cookies and decorations, Panera Bread for the hot chocolate, and Great Play of Superior for providing the kids activity.
