Mountain View Fire Rescue, in collaboration with Wildfire Partners and the Town of Superior Disaster Preparedness and Recovery Department, is pleased to announce a community-focused Slash Drop-off Chipping Event for National Preparedness Month in September. This event is designed to strengthen wildfire preparedness and community resilience by providing residents with a responsible way to dispose of:

  • Junipers, which can even be cut flush to the ground without removing stump and should not grow back
  • Wood slash, including limbs, branches, and small trees up to 6 inches in diameter

*** Please no trash, lumber or anything with nails or metal in it. ***

In addition to the chipping service, wildfire prevention experts will be on hand to provide valuable insights into wildfire prevention strategies, property maintenance tips, and resources aimed at enhancing fire resilience. There is also a $500 rebate program through Wildfire Partners that can help to pay for removal of junipers and to create a 5 ft fire hardened area around your home. Note this program requires before and after photos and any receipts after pre-registration. Pre-registration is required and can take up to a month and as long as this documentation is provided Wildfire Partners can help you. To apply and learn more about the rebate please visit this link: https://wildfirepartners.org/rebate/
