The Town of Superior’s Transportation and Safety Committee (TSC) has received an application for Traffic Calming Measures along Coal Creek Drive and 4th Avenue in Original Town. The application expressed resident concerns regarding traffic speeds, traffic volumes, and cut-through traffic. Staff reviewed this request with the TSC during the June 2024 meeting and the Committee decided to move forward with community outreach and engagement.
A neighborhood meeting will be held at Town Hall on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Board Room. The primary goal of the meeting is to collect resident input but some items that will be discussed during the meeting include:
- Speed data and traffic counts on Coal Creek Drive
- History of traffic calming on Coal Creek Drive
- Potential improvements along Coal Creek Drive such as speed humps, bike lanes and other traffic calming measures
- Restricting 4th Avenue traffic (i.e. right-turn only onto Sycamore Street)
