Home MenuShare Superior Spaces - Trails and Paths Etiquette and Safety
Do your part to help everyone travel safely on Superior's multiuse pathways.
Pay attention and be aware of your surroundings. Put your headphones and phone away. |
Keep things moving in both directions. Step to the side if you need to stop. |
||
This is a two-way path, so keep to the right. Faster travelers should pass on the left. |
Everyone must yield the right-of-way to horses. Bikes and skateboards must also yield to pedestrians. |
||
Dogs must be leashed. Neither the dog nor the leash should block the path. |
Individuals accompanying dogs are required to clean up and remove pet waste. |
||
When passing, clearly call out, "Excuse me, passing left," or ring a bell if you have one and wait for a reaction before passing. |
As you bicycle on trails and paths, please use hand signals to indicate your intentions. |
||
For safety, cyclists are encouraged to wear a helmet at all times. An accident can happen at any time! |
The speed limit is always whatever is safe under the conditions. Obey posted speed limit signs. |
||
Be visible in the dark! Use front and rear lights and wear reflective clothing in dim or dark conditions. |
Help to protect the natural environment around you. Stay on designated trails and avoid going off trail when at all possible. |
Multiuse pathways and trails visitors are responsible for knowing and obeying all of the Town of Superior's Parks, Trails and Open Space regulations. For questions or concerns, please reach out to tospros@superiorcolorado.gov or (303) 554-9005.
