Town of Superior, Colorado
Home MenuTrustee Jenn Kaaoush
A fourth generation Army Veteran, Jenn hails from Pacific Grove, California. After her time in the service, she also served as a Diplomat in the Middle East for six years at US Embassies in Jordan and Qatar before choosing Superior as her forever hometown.
With two “big kids” in college and 1st grader at Superior Elementary, Jenn knows the value of the community that Superior offers, the amenities the town boasts and the work it takes to keep those thriving.
Jenn has been a positive force in all the communities she has lived which gives her a robust level of experiences in town government. She served as an Economic Development Commissioner in her hometown and as the PTA President for two terms at her children’s school in CA.
While in Jordan, she started a Non-Profit Organization called “Books For Change” to support the education of Syrian refugees, specifically women and children. The organization raised funds that enabled key support of a learning center near the Za’atari Refugee Camp, the largest in the region.
While in Doha, Qatar, Jenn served as the Community Liaison to families at the US Embassy supporting them in their arrivals, housing needs, educational needs, and crisis management abroad.
Jenn is a person who sees a need and finds a way. When the town was planning to cancel the Superior Sock Drive due to Covid and staffing issues, Jenn recruited businesses and residents to become front porch drop off zones and collected over 1200 pairs of socks for the December “Sock It To Em” campaign. She also put a Santa mailbox in her front yard so kids could deliver their letters to Santa through the toughest Covid years. This also allowed parents an alternative to getting their “Santa photo”.
Jenn also jumped into community support by joining the Parks and Recs advisory board now known as PARC. In her time with PARC, Jenn supported the update and creation of the newly remodeled Purple Park as well as the finishing touches on the parks being installed in the Downtown area.
Jenn also started a Superior softball team (Sons of Pitches) that, despite a really rough first year, is taking names and winning games in 2022. You can see them play in the Boulder Adult Rec League.
In 2021, Jenn was appointed to the Town of Superior Planning Commission. There, she has supported the Marshall Fire recovery as well as the continued growth and sustainability of the Town of Superior. The Planning Commission has been a place where Jenn has demonstrated that she will listen to residents and support and vote for what they want.
Additionally, Jenn spends her time as the Co-Director of Superior Rising, a non-profit created to support residents of Superior in the Marshall Fire recovery. Through her work as a Planning Commissioner and Superior Rising leadership, Jenn has cultivated collaborative relationships with local, regional, state and national community members.
When Jenn isn't helping folks in the community, you'll likely find her at her favorite gym, Suptown Crossfit, riding her bikes or motorcycle or on a home tour somewhere in the 0027 with her amazing clients.
With a track record of community engagement, support and advocacy, she has the experience, tenacity and empathy to represent you as a Trustee and is humbled and grateful for the opportunity the residents of Superior have given her.
