This is your source for updated information regarding work on public roads in Superior. Updates will be posted here informing residents and visitors of construction progress and closure dates for affected streets and neighborhoods.

Please email us if you would like to receive electronic notification on road construction projects, affected streets, lane restrictions and closures.

Town-wide Concrete Repair Project

Noraa Concrete Construction has been awarded a contract to perform asphalt and concrete work at various locations throughout town from approximately August 21 - November 15, 2017. Residents whose driveway access will be affected will be contacted several days in advance of repairs near their homes. Street parking will still be available during the repair work. Please be aware of these construction activities and comply with all posted signage.

Pedestrian Crossing @ Safeway & Rock Creek Parkway

In addition to residential concrete repair, the median in Rock Creek Parkway will be modified to connect the two bus stops on either side of Rock Creek Parkway near the Safeway entrance. Rapid flashing rectangular beacons (RRFBs) will be installed to assist with pedestrian crossings. Lane closures will take place during construction.

McCaslin Northbound Through Lane

Noraa Concrete Construction will also perform concrete modifications and patching on the east side of McCaslin Blvd. south of Marshall to accommodate a third northbound through lane on McCaslin through the Marshall intersection.  Lane closures will take place during construction.

Striping and Pavement Marking Operations

The Town’s contractor will be performing striping on primary streets at night throughout Town in August.   Installation of arrows, symbols and crosswalks will mostly occur during daylight hours within temporary work zones.  Please be careful driving through these work zones.

McCaslin Boulevard/Main Street Roundabout

The new roundabout opened to through traffic in early July.  Please be advised of the new traffic pattern.  The side street approaches will be under construction for several weeks so no turns will be allowed at the roundabout during this period.  The bypass travel lanes which were in place on McCaslin Boulevard during the roundabout construction will be removed in July and the new connection to Main Street will be constructed.   No pedestrian facilities will be available on McCaslin in the southbound direction during this construction, and bicyclists will need to travel through the roundabout to proceed south on McCaslin.  A temporary walk will be available in the northbound direction for bicyclists and pedestrians, but care should be taken when traveling through this construction zone.   There will be periodic lane closures on McCaslin in order to complete street light installation and landscape work.  Please be advised that the speed limit will remain 25 mph in this area during this construction and there will be flaggers present to coordinate temporary stops to allow for construction vehicle crossings.  The Sport Stable and Downtown Superior will continue to be accessible via the temporary road located north of the roundabout, but southbound traffic desiring to access this road will proceed through the roundabout to make a U-turn  to head north on McCaslin and then make a right at this road.  Thank you for your patience during the roundabout construction.

Work Zone Guidelines

Please use extra caution when traveling work zones. Give workers and other drivers plenty of room to minimize the chance of accidents. Please be mindful of field personnel, machinery, and observe all posted signs.

Work hours will be 7 AM – 5 PM however weather and other factors may affect the exact hours and duration of the work.

If you notice any issues with construction that was completed (concrete cracking, landscape repairs, irrigation repairs, etc.), please report it to Alex Bullen at alexb@superiorcolorado.gov or 303-499-3675. The Town has a two-year warranty on all completed work.

The Town appreciates your patience in advance while performing these projects to continue its goal of investing in and maintaining the public infrastructure.
