SUPERIOR CEMETERY TOMBSTONE TOUR

Yes, there is a cemetery in Superior. The Superior Historical Commission will host a "Tombstone Tour" of our historic cemetery on Saturday, October 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The cemetery, located just south of Avista Hospital on the south side of US 36, is one of the older cemeteries in Boulder County. The first burial on record there took place in 1873 and the last in 1949. Historical Commission members and volunteers will be on hand to provide information about interesting people and sites in the cemetery. Parking will be in the Avista Hospital south lot followed by a walk through the tunnel under highway 36. Participants should plan for walking in uneven terrain and wear appropriate clothing, footwear and sunscreen.
